The Water Conservation Garden

Summer is here so now's the time to act. The Water Conservation Garden at Cuyamaca College in El Cajon is a great way to learn more about local gardening and native plant life. The garden was established in 1991 by local residents to combat rising population and drought conditions. The gardens main focus in the earlier stages of its development was water conservation through awareness and activism. In 1992 they formed the Water Conservation Gardening Authority, a nonprofit organization. Since then they have branched out to incorporate many interesting events and activities for gardeners of all ages. In addition, they hold many classes, tours and festivals though out the year.
