We are more than thrilled to have live artist Bryan Helfand join us on May 10th for Surfrider Foundation San Diego Chapter’s 13th Annual Art Gala at Paradise Point Resort in Mission Bay.   Bryan is an artist living and raising a family in North San Diego.  His passion is creating artwork from his experiences in and around the ocean.  Best known for being the first surf artist to paint a 153 sq. ft. mural inside the Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park, CA, he showcases his art in several shows and events annually.  He is a self-taught artist using various mediums such as acrylics, pen, pencil and screen printing on wood, surfboards, canvas, and other interesting found objects.  Bryan’s inspiration comes from years of surfing, sealife, the ocean and places he has traveled.

Bryan on his inspiration:

“With the use of acrylics, pencil, pen, and found objects…off the beach of course…I create art that like the ocean…is magnetic. Each piece is an evolution of the last and my creative world is inspired by the ocean and it’s surroundings. The ocean has an amazing magnetism that for me is truly indescribable.”
