Surfrider Foundation San Diego County relies wholly on community support to fund our critical work on beach access, clean water, coastal preservation, ocean protection, and plastic pollution. We welcome the support of individuals and organizations who’d like to create an online fundraising campaign, a peer to peer page, or a tribute page on behalf of our chapter.
How It Works
Our chapter uses GiveLively for online fundraising. GiveLively allows you to make direct donations to our chapter, create your own “peer to peer” fundraising page, and even set up a unique campaign page in our benefit. If you have a specific campaign in mind – i.e. a school fundraiser or a tribute page in memory of a lost loved one – please contact our Chapter Manager directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or 619.736.7757
Create a "Peer to Peer" Page
If you’d like to set up a Peer to Peer fundraising page for our chapter, simply click the “I want to fundraise for this” button on our GiveLively homepage. You will have the option to upload your own photos and write a personal note. Some examples of Peer to Peer pages created to benefit our chapter:
A Unique Campaign Page
While a “Peer to Peer” page is sufficient for individuals who wish to fundraise within their personal network, another option is to work with our Chapter Manager to set up a unique Campaign page. This is a great option for a tribute page, a school fundraiser, or any other effort where multiple parties will be involved.
Campaign pages allow individuals to set up Peer to Peer fundraisers that trace back to the campaign. This is helpful in the case of a company or organization who wants to track their overall fundraising effort, while at the same time enabling peer to peer fundraising among individual employees/members within the campaign.
Through Campaigns, we can also create a unique “Text to Give” code to enable instant donations through a smartphone. Text “surfridersd” to 44-321, for example, and see what happens!
