Demand Federal Action to Heal Our Coast and Communities

Every day, millions of gallons of untreated sewage, toxic chemicals, and trash flow through the Tijuana River Watershed at the U.S./Mexico border. Join Surfrider in calling on the President and Congress to act now to address this national emergency.

Our Mission

Where the land meets the sea

The Surfrider Foundation is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world’s ocean, waves and beaches, for all people, through a powerful activist network.

Breaking Point: Border Pollution Crisis

We have been sounding the alarm on this issue for years, and need your support to bring this issue to the forefront of national attention. Ecosystems are being destroyed, beaches are closed a majority of the year in South San Diego County, and this onslaught of pollution is linked to common illnesses such as asthma, gastrointestinal issues, and skin infections. Even more severe illnesses like hepatitis and flesh eating bacteria have been reported by members of our Military and Border Patrol.
