Is Your Life Too Plastic?

We will be hosting a FREE screening of the movie Bag It on Tuesday, December 6th from 7-9pm at the Dempsey Holder Safety Center, which is located at 950 Ocean Lane in Imperial Beach.

This award winning film follows Jeb Berrier as he navigates our plastic world.  Jeb is not a radical environmentalist, but an average American who decides to take a closer look at our cultural love affair with plastics.  Jeb's journey in this documentary film starts with simple questions: Are plastic bags really necessary?  What are plastic bags made from?  What happens to plastic bags after they are discarded?  What he learns quickly grows far beyond plastic bags.

The San Diego County Chapter's very own Scott Harrison, one of the founders of the Rise Above Plastics campaign, will conduce a Q&A after the film.  Scott has met the film's protagonist Jeb and is intimately knowledgeable about the subject of plastic pollution.  Scott was also featured in the film himself.

Please bring your own reusable bowl for FREE popcorn!

If you're inspired by the film, we will have information on more ways to get involved with the Rise Above Plastics movement in your community including the countywide Day Without a Bag event on Thursday, December 15th...more details to come!
