Join us for a Landmark Stormwater Hearing

The Regional Water Quality Control Board updates stormwater permits (aka MS4 permits) every 5 years. Not only are they considering adopting a new MS4 permit at their April meeting, but this new permit represents a paradigm shift. Instead of individual permits for individual cities, the new permit takes on a watershed based approach and will implement one consistent permit for the entire region! This is a huge step in the right direction toward truly addressing stormwater problems, and improving our local water quality! It is unacceptable that we cannot swim or surf for 72 hours after it rains, and the new draft regional MS4 stormwater permit is the best way to help change that.

Join Surfrider Foundation and other local environmental organizations at this landmark hearing April 10th from 4-6pm at 9174 Sky Park Court, Suite 100. We need to have a large presence there to show the Regional Board how much clean water means to us, and to counteract efforts by the cities and developers to weaken the draft permit. This is your chance to stand up for clean water!

Sign up here if you can attend the hearing and please wear a Surfrider shirt if you have one. It is recommended that you arrive at 3:30pm.
