Learn about Water Quality in the Border Region

Join us for our next chapter meeting on Wednesday, September 19th from 7-8:30pm at the California Center for Sustainable Energy.  Our guest speaker this month is Ewan Moffat, Environmental Health Specialist with the San Diego County Department of Environmental Health.  Ewan will be talking about the beach water quality, advisories and closures for San Diego County.  He will give a basic description of types of advisories and closures and will provide details on the Tijuana River and power outage beach closures that occurred last September.

Ewan Moffat studied Geology at University of Miami.  He lived in Miami most of his life, until moving to San Diego in 2000.  Ewan worked for eight years in the Environmental Department at Miami-Dade and is currently employed at the San Diego County Department of Environmental Health.  For the past four years, Ewan has been working with the beach water quality program here in San Diego County.

Unfortunately, Ewan was unable to make the chapter meeting but he was kind enough to provide us with a PDF of his presentation.  Download the presentation here!
