On Tuesday, September 9th, over sixty people attended RAP's screening of Into the Gyre at the CapeTown Pub in Mira Mesa.
The film documents a sailing journey to study the location, extent and effect of plastic
pollution in the North Atlantic Ocean – the Great Atlantic Gyre - and examines the history of plastics, their adverse effects on the ocean, and possible solutions to this problem. Emelia DeForce, one of the research scientists who made the voyage, was in attendance to answer questions.
