The Know Your H20 committee invites all members to join us at our Tuesday April 21st meeting for a discussion with Deanna Spehn, Policy Director for State Assembly Speaker Toni Atkins. Deanna will discuss money in the recently passed State Water Bond that can be used to fund projects that are critical to the Surfrider mission, like recycling water for drinking and restoring watershed systems to improve water quality upstream and in the ocean. Deanna will speak about the San Diego implementation of the Water Bond and take questions. Assembly Speaker Toni Atkins worked with the governor and other officials to put together the 7.5 billion bond, which allocates money for projects such as watershed management, water recycling, drinking water protection, and water storage.
