For more than three decades, our community has gathered for the annual Paddle for Clean Water to celebrate and defend our ocean. This event has been a cornerstone of Surfrider San Diego, bringing together surfers, paddlers, and ocean lovers to raise awareness about the urgent need to protect clean water and healthy coastlines.
After much reflection, our chapter has decided not to host the Paddle for Clean Water this year and to pause the event until further notice. This was not an easy decision. As our programs and advocacy continue to expand, we are prioritizing the capacity of our volunteer-led team to ensure that we can focus our energy where it will have the greatest impact.
While we won’t gather at Mission Beach this fall, our mission remains steadfast. We invite you to continue joining us at cleanups, Ocean Friendly Restaurants, and advocacy campaigns that keep our coastlines safe, accessible, and thriving.
Thank you for your continued support and for being part of this movement. Together, we will keep fighting for clean water and healthy beaches for all.
