Paddle 'round the pier course

As always, safety is #1 priority at the Surfrider Foundation Paddle For Clean Water. The paddle around the pier is approx. one mile and takes people between 20 and 60 minutes to complete. Pace yourself, take it easy and enjoy the great vibes! Please note that while this is a non-competitive event it is still very strenuous and not for the faint-of-heart.

At 10am sharp when the paddle starts, everyone will enter on the north side of the pier. The south side has a rocky reef that is very shallow and can be dangerous. Depending on how much sand is around, there may be a few rocks on the north side so be cautious.

After about 150 yards, all paddlers will cross under the pier then complete a loop around the end of the pier from south to north. The Ocean Beach Geriatrics surf club will be the safety crew as usual to help guide you. They will be entering the water early so don't get confused and think that's the start of the paddle.

### On The way back in, be sure to stay on the south side of the 24 hour swim zone that is in front of the lifeguard tower ###

Whether you paddle around the pier or simply attend to support clean water, your presence makes an impact. Come on down to check out the sights and join in the group photo around 10:40 or 11am. It's a free event so we hope to see you there!
