One great way to conserve water is to make sure you are getting the most out of every drop. The San Diego County Water Authority and participating member agencies offer free, site-specific water-saving recommendations at homes or businesses from certified irrigation professionals. In some parts of the county, WaterSmart Checkups include help setting irrigation timers to comply with local water-use restrictions, for instance, watering ornamental landscapes with potable water no more than two days a week.
Checkups are available to owners and managers of commercial, multi-family, industrial, public or single-family properties. Single-family home checkups include recommendations to increase indoor and outdoor water-use efficiency. Participants can use the assessments to decide if and when to make changes. Participation is limited.
