Join us for a "Sunset Strike Team" beach cleanup in Oceanside this August! Starting Sunday, August 6 and ending on Sunday, August 20, we'll be hosting a series of strike team cleanups on both Sunday and Thursday evenings from 7pm-830pm. A strike team is smaller and more nimble than our regularly scheduled monthly cleanups, strategically timed for when our beaches need an extra helping hand.
Oceanside's beaches see large crowds in the summer, which means the beach is often trashed by sunset when the crowds begin to disperse. Equally important, the Oceanside City Council will vote on a single-use plastic reduction ordinance on August 23 and our chapter is advocating strongly for its passage. Therefore, we've decided to focus this monthlong effort in North County's largest city in an effort to build community and support for cleaner beaches and less plastic pollution citywide. If you live or recreate in Oceanside and support efforts to reduce the amount of harmful plastic pollution that ends up in our ocean, beaches and communities, please join us!
Minors are welcome with parental consent, and we will gladly provide community service slips to anyone who needs one. Please click the image below to sign up!
