Tijuana River Action Month Internship

TRAM INTERNSHIP

The Surfrider Foundation is a grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our ocean, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network.   The No Border Sewage / South Bay Clean Water is a Surfrider campaign dedicated to eliminating the sewage, trash and pollution that plagues the border region. Tijuana River Action Month is a month of education, awareness and clean-ups organized by various non-profits to benefit the Tijuana River Watershed.

No BS/ SBCW is seeking an energetic, independent and motivated individual to fill the role of the TRAM intern. This position reports to Gabriela Torres, the Policy Coordinator, to assist with updating the TRAM website and creating content related to TRAM events.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Input data into google sheets
  • Respond to general Surfrider SD inquiries via email
  • Write blog posts for committees and campaigns
  • Draft and update website copy
  • Assist Chapter Coordinator in a variety of office related duties
  • Set up and organize Surfrider SD Google Drive/Dropbox

 

Qualifications:

Applicants should have experience with Google Drive and desire to regularly create content for a TRAM website.  Candidates must be passionate about the border sewage issue and our ocean, waves, and beaches. She or he must be hardworking and self-motivated, and available in South County San Diego.

 

Salary, Benefits & Terms:

Compensation — This position is unpaid; college credit available

Schedule — 10 hours/week

Start Date — As soon as possible

End Date  — Flexible through October 31, 2019
