On May 28, 2014, Hold On To Your Butt (HOTYB) volunteers met with partners Janice Klafehn from the Vista Village Business Association, Vista Village Councilwoman Amanda Rigby, and Natalie Roberts from I Love A Clean San Diego (ILACSD), to conduct a walk-through assessment of best locations for ashcan installations in the Vista Business Improvement District (BID) and adjacent areas like Vista Village.

This assessment was performed by HOTYB volunteers and our partners in preparation for the new Surfrider San Diego Chapter Project to protect the Ocean from cigarette butt litter in Vista, which is part of the Carlsbad Watershed. HOTYB is dedicated to expanding our ashcan installation program to more inland areas, and our partnerships with local officials and fellow non-profits will bring up to 20 new ashcans to Vista.

Thank you to Janice Klafehn, Councilwoman Rigby, and Natalie Roberts, as well as our dedicated HOTYB volunteers for making this happen! And remember to Hold On To Your Butt!
