On Sunday, September 28th, our Hold On To Your Butt (HOTYB) committee revitalized our ashcans in Pacific Beach, replacing dilapidated stickers, and installing new ashcans. Twenty Surfrider Foundation volunteers hit the streets and installed 22 new ashcans, on top of 2 new ashcans installed earlier in the year, revitalized 27 existing ashcans and picked up cigarette butts at the new installation sites. Surfrider Foundation San Diego County Chapter, along with our partner, I Love A Clean San Diego, now have 53 ashcans strategically placed in Pacific Beach to prevent millions of cigarettes butts from reaching our streets, beaches, and ultimately the ocean.
None of this would be possible without the support of our volunteers and supporters.
