Solana Beach Walk

The Beach Preservation Committee organized an educational walk in Solana Beach to discuss the negative impacts that seawalls have on beaches. Committee co-chairs Jim Jaffee and Tom Cook gave some background on the area's geology, the California Coastal Act, and the coastal processes that naturally occur in San Diego. They also discussed how the installation of a sea wall, by fixing the back of the beach, causes the beaches to narrow over time.

Contact us if you are interested in attending our next Beach Walk. We are also looking for Beach Walk guides so contact us to reserve a spot at our next training session.
