Paddle Raises Funds for Clean Water Initiatives
The Surfrider Foundation San Diego County Chapter invites you to participate in the 22nd Annual Paddle for Clean Water on Sunday, September 22nd from 9am-Noon.
The event will feature hundreds of surfers and ocean enthusiasts paddling around the Ocean Beach Pier to raise awareness about the need for clean water and healthy coastlines.
This year’s paddle will be focused on the chapter’s Rise Above Plastics campaign, which aims to reduce the impacts of plastics in the marine environment by raising awareness about the dangers of plastic pollution and by advocating for a reduction of single-use plastics and recycling of all plastics.
As part of the festivities, there will be free breakfast for all paddlers, guest speakers, live music from Ottly Mercer and a raffle. There will also be a donation-based yoga class on the beach starting at 8:30am. The event will be followed by an afterparty at Wonderland.
New this year, you can help raise funds to support clean water initiatives in San Diego County. Go to stayclassy.org/paddle to start your fundraising page and encourage your friends/family to support your participation in this event.
Thank you to this year’s onsite sponsors for making this event possible! This year’s sponsors include 91X, Cali Bamboo, Clif Bar, Indie Yoga, Ocean Minded, Soulr Surfboards and the Lazy Hummingbird.
