Sunshine by Julie Goldstein

Julie's art is inspired by nature, the sea, urban culture, and her travel experiences. In multimedia works on paper and fabric, she mixes lithographic and woodcut printmaking techniques with sewing and embroidery to create a hybrid, contemporary style.

Julie's work has been exhibited nationally and internationally since 1998, and she has had many solo exhibitions such as in 2011 at Gallery 1603 in Surf City, NJ, in 2010 at Pacific Surf Gallery in Cardiff, CA, and in 2009 at The Escape Gallery in Bourdeaux, France. Her work has also been featured in NYLON Magazine, BLUE Magazine, Surfline.com, Surfer Girl Magazine, and in the documentary Hanging Five. Since 2012, Julie has been collaborating with ROXY, REEF, and Patagonia to create textile designs for apparel and skateboard decks. Currently, she resides in Encinitas, CA and teaches at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise and is working on her own product line that will launch along with her new body of woodcuts, fabric work, and illustrations in a solo exhibition opening in July.
